Project 4- To much tolkien

It was a struggle to get me to read any of these novels but eventually I choose Watership Down, I had heard of it before and instead of going through the lord of the rings again or of mice and men ( everyone who studied in Britain has been taught this in secondary school ) I went for something new. To sum it all up the book is about a band of rabbits who set out to start a new home, its a journey in which they bump into some not very friendly creatures, like General Woundwort who controls a society of other rabbits with an iron fist. The journey is tough and the experiences that they share brings out the best in each character and brings them even closer.

For the book design I was playing with paper seeing if I could create a 3D title. I was cutting a stencil of the title then popping it out to make it stand up, I did like this effect but choose to go with a more traditional approach for the cover. I used brown paper but this time reversed from the original 3D piece, I drew a heart in the rabbit symbolising the bond that grows between the characters in there hard journey.
